Formwork props are height-adjustable steel or aluminium prop jacks that support formwork systems in slab and wall formwork construction. Alumimium Formwork Props

 

Aluminium shoring prop, or aluminium adjustable prop, is made of aluminium alloy profiles. It weighs much less than steel formwork prop, allowing easier handling and faster assembly by workers on site to save labour cost and construction time. It mainly serves medium and light load applications with good toughness, ideal for regular slab and residential building projects. The aluminium alloy material will not rust, bringing lower long-term operating costs and delivering better performance in coastal areas.

Slab and Wall Formwork Props

Props are adjustable shoring parts of the formwork system. They support formwork panels, formwork beams (like H20 timber beams and aluminium beams), and plywood in concrete slabs, beams, and walls. Compared to shoring scaffolding in formwork, the props are telescopic and standard independent, which is more efficient and easier for formwork construction.

Construction formwork props, known as shuttering props, include slab single props, push-pull single and double brace props, and trench props according to the design and function.

Slab single props are the most popular construction props for concrete formwork. They are used to support concrete slabs and beams vertically in construction.

Push-pull props brace the formwork panels in the wall and column formwork concrete. Push pulls can be single-braced or double-braced.

They have two common tube sizes: 40mm inner tube with 48mm outer tube, or 48mm inner tube with 56mm outer tube. They come with handled prop cup assembly, sleeve nut, inner and outer tubes, top & bottom plates and G pin.

Also known as Spain props or Italian props, these props can be painted or galvanized for corrosion protection.

They are easy to operate and cost lower. Designed for light load civil construction to support concrete slabs, they can be reused many times.

 

Shoring Props

Post shores are heavy-duty steel props with larger tubes and high load capacity to bear heavy pressure.

They are popular in the USA and Canada for concrete formwork of thick slabs and beams in commercial, industrial and plant construction.

They are also called shore post, pole shore, post shore jack and post shore prop.
