Formwork Combi Nut
Formwork combi nut, made up of a wing nut and a wide load-bearing base plate joined by a pivot pin, the nut sits firmly against formwork panels upon installation. It distributes clamping force evenly for secure fastening, preventing grout leakage, displacement and tilting during concrete pouring. It features fast assembly and disassembly, and can be reused over multiple project cycles.
A wide range of options are available. Bodies can be produced by forging or casting, while base plates are offered in round and square shapes. Wellfit delivers tailored solutions for formwork combi nuts. Please send us an email for your exclusive quotation.

Load Capacity Test of Formwork Combi Nut

1.Sample preparation: Assemble the combination wing nut into the standard tie rod as actual service condition. Mount the assembled specimen into the fixture of the electro hydraulic universal testing machine, ensure proper alignment to avoid eccentric loading.
2.Test execution: Apply continuous tensile force under controlled loading speed. Record load value and corresponding displacement/deformation synchronously during the whole loading procedure until specimen failure occurs.
3.Data processing: Collect test data to plot load-deformation curve. Calculate yield load, ultimate tensile capacity and other mechanical indicators.
4.Result assessment: Evaluate whether the loading performance of combination wing nut meets formwork component specification requirements.
Types of Formwork combi nut
Formwork combi nuts fall into two main categories by manufacturing process: forged combi nuts and casted combi nuts. Base plates are available in round and square designs for selection according to project load and site conditions.

Forged Combi Nut
Made by forging process, it features high strength, strong impact resistance and superior load-bearing capacity. It withstands heavy pressure from fresh concrete pouring, resists damage and allows multiple reuses. It is ideal for high-rise buildings, basements, large-scale infrastructure and rental projects.
Casted Combi Nut
Produced casting process, it brings cost advantages. It suits low-load conditions, short-term civil construction, small temporary projects or applications requiring fewer reuse cycles.

Base Plate Options: Round & Square

Round plate pivot nut
Even force distribution with great versatility for wide-ranging applications, suitable for most wall and column formwork.

Square plate pivot nut
Larger contact area, commonly used under high-pressure conditions where pressure dispersion is required.
Both process versions and base-plate styles fit tie rod sizes DW12, DW15/17 and DW20. Wellfit supports custom sizes according to your drawings or samples.
Surface Treatment for Formwork Combi Nut
Formwork combi nuts adopt electro-galvanized finish (golden zinc / white zinc). It prevents rust during product storage and field use. The anti-corrosion performance meets requirements for outdoor construction, making them suitable for both indoor and coastal working environments. Proper on-site protection is recommended to extend service life.
Why choose our formwork combi nut
Formwork combi nuts, also commonly referred to as Combi Nut, Dome Nut and Swivel Wing Nut, serve as fastening components for formwork systems. We can deliver solutions for various site conditions.
Comprehensive Product Range :Our formwork combi nuts are available in two manufacturing options: forged and casted. Both round plate pivot nut and square plate pivot nut versions are offered. Compatible with DW12, DW15/17, DW20 tie rods, they fit various concrete construction conditions.
User-Friendly Operation: Featuring integrated construction, combi nuts are mounted onto formwork together with tie rods for easy and fast site handling. Compared with separate wing nuts combined with individual base plates, they cut installation time and boost working efficiency.
Rigorous Quality Inspection Process: Samples from every production batch undergo load testing. The test simulates lateral concrete pressure on-site to eliminate potential safety hazards and guarantee safety for formwork projects. Load-test documents can be provided upon your request.
Reliable After-sales & Supply Support: Backed by a complete supply chain for formwork accessories, we can deliver a full set of matching items including tie rods, walers and formwork clamps. This helps lower your procurement time cost.
Complete Formwork Tie Rod System Accessories
The formwork tie rod system consists of tie rods, wing nuts, tie nuts, anchor nuts, water stops, waler plates, steel cones, plastic tubes and plastic cones. Rubber plugs (Flupp Plugs) are also required for projects in some European regions. Wing nuts matched with tie rods are widely adopted as fastening assemblies in formwork construction.
Types of Formwork Tie Nuts
Tie nuts cover single wing nuts, butterfly wing nuts, double anchor wing nuts, triple anchor wing nuts and combination wing nuts (formwork combi nuts). Their special wing structure allows manual tightening and loosening without extra tools. They are manufactured by casting or forging, with standard thread sizes of 17mm and 20mm.

Tie Rod Specifications
Tie rods are generally made of Q235 carbon steel or 45# steel, available in electro-galvanized or black raw finish. Their working load ranges from 40KN to 70KN. We also supply hot rolled tie bars with ultimate breaking load up to 180KN.
Waler Plate Sizes
Standard waler plate sizes include 120×120×10mm, 120×120×8mm, 120×110×10mm and 100×100×10mm. Custom sizes are available upon request.

All of these items are popularly used for concrete formwork & shuttering systems, including wall formwork, column formwork, slab formwork, beam formwork, etc.
