This heavy-duty formwork accessory is made of ductile cast iron or drop-forged steel, with a galvanized finish for corrosion resistance. It consists of a square bearing plate and a swivel wing nut assembly, designed to work with tie rods (typically D15/D17) to clamp and secure formwork panels during concrete pouring.
The swivel mechanism allows the nut to tilt, making it ideal for angled or battered formwork where the tie rod is not perpendicular to the wall. The square plate evenly distributes clamping pressure to avoid damaging the formwork, while the wing design enables quick tightening with a hammer or spanner. It provides high tensile strength (up to 180kN) and is reusable for multiple construction cycles, making it essential for shear wall, column, and slab formwork applications.

Shapes of Super Plate of the Combi Nut
The formwork combi nut has one wing nut and one super plate, and a pivot fixes the two components. In concrete, the super plate is used as a waler to avoid leaking during concrete and forming.

Key Installation Tips
Angle Adaptation: The swivel joint's main purpose is to compensate for angled tie rods. Never force the nut to align straight if the rod is at an angle-let the swivel pivot naturally.
Even Tightening: Always tighten nuts on both sides of the formwork gradually and evenly. Uneven pressure can cause the formwork to bow or leak concrete.
Load Capacity: Do not exceed the nut's rated tensile strength (160kN).
Corrosion Protection: The galvanized finish prevents rust, but avoid scratching the coating during installation to maintain durability.
